While smaller sized generators are used for small appliances and other light uses, this larger unit is designed to work with entire homes that lose their power in storms. While it is larger than some consumers may be expecting, it is rather easy to move around with the wheels which are designed to never go flat and the handle which is placed conveniently so you can pull it along as necessary.
It is also easy on the eyes with a red metal design with nicely placed black accents. This is not only a highly functional unit that delivers a massive amount of power for a very reasonable price, but it is stylish and nice to look at as well.
The Honeywell HW7500e portable generator is also extremely easy to use. It has a single push-button electric start which operates off of a battery. The first battery is included with purchase and all you have to do to get it started is insert that battery and push a button. The Honeywell HW7500e starts up immediately every time, which is important when electricity to your home is suddenly lost.
The actual generator functions off of gas power, so the battery is only used to start up the engine or turn it off.
Honeywell HW7500e Generator Control Panel
There is also a very nice color-coded power control unit which makes it very easy to set the Honeywell HW7500e up for the right load of power. Everything is coordinated according to color so you can easily remember which button does what.
A gauge very conveniently monitors the oil and the unit is self-protected against low oil levels. There are also built-in controls to protect the unit against power overload. This is very important for a generator designed to keep an entire household functional in case of a power outage. Some homes are larger than others and there can be problems if too many appliances are being used at once. The built-in overload protections make the Honeywell HW7500e a great unit for home blackouts.
Other Honeywell HW7500e Generator Features
Another bonus is that the initial purchase comes with the first container of oil and a funnel to help get the oil into the unit. This is something overlooked by many other manufacturers, so it speaks very well for Honeywell. Unfortunately, there is one rather big downfall to the Honeywell HW7500e portable generator: it is not CARB compliant. CARB is the new emissions laws being applied in the state of California in order to control the amount of emissions being released into the air as a result of generator use. Since this unit is not compliant with this regulation it cannot be purchased by people living in the state of California.
There are other models of Honeywell portable generators which are compliant with California’s CARB rules, so those living in California should consider checking into them instead of the HW7500e model.
The best feature on the Honeywell HW7500e model has to be the easy-to-use controls and operations.
