On the other hand, no one’s denying that the ETQ TG1200 is a small portable generator that can’t deliver a large amount of power. It is not suitable for lighting up your home or operating appliances and computers if the electricity goes out. Most people purchase it for outdoor adventures such as camping or long fishing trips, because of its light weight and nice easy portability. It can be used to power very small outdoor portable appliances or perhaps a sump pump in a home.
Other than these limited uses, there just isn’t enough power in the portable ETQ TG1200 generator to be of much use. The good news is it comes with a very low price tag for those who do need something very lightweight and easy to transport on outdoor adventures or camping trips.
Typically you can find this model for $100 to $150, give and take a little. That isn’t much, but you also aren’t getting much power. It will typically run about six hours straight when used at half capacity (500 watts). The entire unit maxes out at 1,200 watts of power with a continuous use rate of 1,000 watts.
The ETQ TG1200 generator is equipped with a 2 HP motor that is surprisingly quiet. Most people find that they can sleep through the noise and it doesn’t typically bother most during daylight hours. This is great since it should be primarily used for camping and other outdoor adventures where the unit may be sitting close to tents or other sleeping arrangements.
Yet, it must be noted that the ETQ TG1200 generator is not compliant with California’s new CARB regulations for emissions. This means it cannot be purchased or used within the state’s borders. There are many other models of portable generators which are in compliance with these rules, but you will have to pay a bit more to get those. If you are planning to travel to California remember to leave this unit behind.
The portable ETQ TG1200 generator is very easy to transport thanks to a lightweight frame. It doesn’t come with wheels, but it is small and light enough to be transported very easily. This is another feature that makes it suitable to outdoor adventures where you will typically want to pack light to eliminate hassle and strain.

When you purchase the ETQ TG1200 generator you are getting something that is super compact and convenient. The best feature about the gas-powered portable ETQ TG1200 generator is the price tag. Seriously consider your primary use for the generator and consider going with something more powerful if you have any doubts that this one will work.
